🎬 Video Editor (Short-Form Content Specialist) - Independent Contractor📌 Logistics & Compensation* Contract Type: This is an Independent Contractor role, managed through Remote Hero for dedicated work with the client.* Workload: Approximately 40 hours per month. You will be joining a fast-paced, results-driven environment, where your creativity and platform expertise will directly influence client success.📣The OpportunityRemote Hero is seeking an experienced and trend-aware Video Editor to work as an Independent Contractor with our client, specializing in high-volume short-form content creation. This role is pivotal in turning raw client footage into engaging, high-performing videos for social platforms. If you are a social media native with an expert-level understanding of trends and the ability to create ""scroll-stopping"" content, this is the perfect opportunity for you.🚀 Key Responsibilities1. Content Strategy & Direction (The Creative Eye)- Develop compelling video concepts based on each client's brand, offer, and target audience.- Direct clients by providing detailed shot lists, angle suggestions, hooks, and scripts to guide their raw footage submission.- Ensure all content aligns with current platform trends, best practices, and algorithm shifts.- Transform a single raw clip into multiple high-impact variations (organic and ad-optimized versions).2. Video Editing & Creative Production (The Execution)-Edit 50–100 short-form videos per month across multiple clients and diverse brand styles.-Create platform-optimized versions tailored for IG Reels, TikTok, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts.-Apply expert-level editing techniques including captions, music, sound effects, motion graphics, and consistent brand elements.-Produce both native, organic-style videos and highly optimized, conversion-focused ad versions.3. Content Posting, Scheduling & Management-Upload and schedule finalized content across all specified platforms.-Draft engaging captions, relevant hashtags, and clear Calls-to-Action (CTAs).-Manage and track the posting calendar per client to ensure all deadlines are met.-Organize and manage content files efficiently in shared platforms (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox).4. Client Communication & Performance Optimization-Send content directions and shot lists to clients on a weekly basis, following up for timely submission of raw footage.-Monitor and analyze platform performance metrics (views, retention rate, CTR, engagement).-Proactively suggest creative adjustments—including hooks, pacing, topics, and formats—based on performance data and platform trends.😎 Required Skills & Expertise-Experience Level: Middle (1-3 years), with a portfolio demonstrating high-quality, high-volume production.-Editing Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in short-form video editing software, with required expertise in CapCut.-Social Media Native: Deep, innate understanding of current platform trends, sounds, pacing, and meme culture.-Creative Focus: Proven ability to write strong hooks and craft compelling, story-driven edits, with mastery of creating scroll-stopping first three seconds.-Ad Compliance: Strong understanding of ad compliance rules (Meta/TikTok safe wording, claims, etc.).✨Required Tools: -CapCut, WhatsApp, and proficiency in scheduling software like Vista Social.-Language: Fluent written and spoken English is required.-Good-to-Have: Basic graphic design skills.📣 How to Apply:We're looking to interview and hire for this role as soon as possible.
