THE OPPORTUNITYNZME is on the hunt for a dynamic Video Producer to join our visuals team and help elevate our storytelling. You’ll be at the heart of the action—producing fresh, timely, and engaging video content that resonates with audiences across Aotearoa. From breaking news to premium features, your work will help shape how New Zealanders experience the news. How You’ll Do ItYou’ll be hands-on across the entire production process—sourcing, shooting, editing, captioning, and publishing video and still imagery.

Whether you’re operating studio cameras, setting up live streams, or curating content for social media, you’ll bring stories to life with flair and precision. You’llShoot and edit video in multiple formats for Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch newsrooms. Respond to breaking news with agility and creativity. Collaborate with journalists to ensure video content complements written stories. Use analytics and audience insights to guide your storytelling. Master editorial systems and production tools to deliver high-quality content across platforms. About YouYou’re a visual storyteller with a sharp eye and a passion for news. You’ve got:

A relevant qualification or NCEA Level 2 English and at least one year’s experience in video production and editing. Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit. A proactive attitude and a hunger to learn new techniques and tools. The ability to juggle tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to the fast pace of a newsroom.
