The role is responsible for the collection, preparation, and testing of wine samples across all stages of production, from grape intake through to final bottling.Operating within a NATA-accredited laboratory, the role involves conducting both chemical and microbiological analyses, maintaining precise calibration of laboratory equipment, and ensuring all data is accurately recorded. This is a shift-based position, with operations running on a 24/5 roster outside of peak season and transitioning to a 24/7 schedule during peak vintage periods, including weekend shifts.Success in this role requires a strong attention to detail, adherence to quality and safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining product integrity.Key ResponsibilitiesPerforming routine laboratory tests (e.g. Sulphur Dioxide, pH/TA analysis).Recording and reporting analytical results accurately.Use laboratory equipment and perform tests that involve a narrow range of variables and easily recognised control limits.Work under close and regular supervision, although may have autonomy for specific tasks and responsibility for own outputs.Work in a team and have responsibility for your own work outputs.Calibrate, operate laboratory equipment.Maintain laboratory hygiene and orderliness.Following BRC, HACCP, and NATA protocols.What You Will BringAn interest in wine science and a willingness to learn in a laboratory environment.Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry, Microbiology or a related field are desirable, but not essential – relevant experience or a strong aptitude for laboratory work will also be considered.Some experience in a winery and/or laboratory environment is advantageous but not required – training will be provided.The ability to work shifts and weekends is essential.Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook.Why Join Us?Vinarchy is a home for passionate people to do their very best work.
