JOB PURPOSE : The Buying Lead is responsible for managing the buying process for designated categories, ensuring optimal product selection, supplier management, and commercial negotiations to drive business performance. He/she leads a team of buyers and specialists, overseeing purchasing strategies, pricing, and supplier partnerships while ensuring alignment with the company's commercial objectives. RESPONSIBILTIES: Develop and implement category buying strategies based on market trends, customer insights, and business objectives. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring high-quality partnerships and ongoing business growth. Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing, favorable margins, and strong return policies.
Ensure suppliers adhere to company standards, policies, and contractual agreements. Oversee the analysis sales data and market conditions to optimize product selection and inventory levels. Monitor competitor pricing, trends, and assortment to maintain a competitive edge in the market. Ensure efficient processing of purchase orders, supplier payments, and contract compliance. Work closely with merchandising, operations, and finance teams to ensure smooth procurement and stock management. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the buying function.
Recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate the team to ensure that the department has the necessary skill base, and that staff are optimally motivated and enabled to maximize their potential and contribution to the company. QAULIFICATIONS: Fluency in EnglishFluency in Arabic, French, Russian is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Proficiency in Dynamics 365 and Power BI is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Six to eight years of experience in a similar role. Three years of experience in a managerial role.
