Position SummaryAs a world leader in cordless technology spanning Power Tools, Outdoor Power Equipment, Floor Care Appliances and Accessories, at TTI we are dedicated to improving the lives of homeowners and tradespeople around the world through innovation. As a principal Engineer of Vision System, you will lead the activities of cell manufacturing equipment vision system optimization, modification, upgrading, continuous improvement, new line design, detection accuracy enhancement, OEE improvement, solve on-site vision system defects, prepare related documentation, coach team members. Also get involved in new equipment layout planning, vision setting, FAT, SAT.Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will have opportunities to access to latest cell Assembly manufacturing technologies around the world and shape the innovative cell solutions for meeting TTI’s power output and energy storage requirements for a variety of products.Proficient in C++ or Python, C#. Skilled in using vision libraries such as OpenCV, Halcon, and VisionPro.Recognize current equipment vision system software and hardware defect, develop corrective actions, follow up execution result.Create novel pre-maintenance plan to reduce vision system break down, reduce loss by equipment, work with external vendors and collaborators to design and qualify new vision system and next generation technologies. Select and debug industrial cameras, lenses, light sources, and other vision components, and complete system calibration. Optimize image processing algorithms (such as target detection, recognition, measurement, and localization). Establish technical evaluation plan, identify required resources, set up timelines, prioritize tasks, troubleshoot problems, and assess technical feasibility and commercial viability. Effectively communicate the ideas and results both internally and externally.Monitor projects status, provide updates, deliver reports/presentations regarding the current and future development activities, and make recommendations.Identify the patentable inventions and generate IPs.QualificationsBS or MS degree in science or engineering (Machinery, Automation is necessary).5+ year experience with equipment/process development, maintenance, production. Knowledge of emerging cell manufacturing process/equipment technologies is preferred.Cylindrical cell experience is preferred.Deep-in knowledge of cell equipment design, modification and continuous optimization.Strong problem-solving skills driven by curiosity and attention to details.Familiar with machine learning or deep learning methods and have practical project experience.Excellent communication skills, fluent in English and Chinese is preferred.
