Role purposeGiven the complexity, scale, and pace of the Consumer Business Unit (CBU), this role will be responsible for the following:
Define, execute, and accelerate the development and implementation of the CBU Strategy, in addition to executing commercial plans across CBU Manage special projects defined by the CBU Director that impact commercial outcomes across various areas within CBU and cross-functionally with other BUs within DRD, SA and Vodacom Group Plan and execute all operational activities for the CBU director, including strategy planning, budgeting, target setting, performance tracking, innovation pipeline management, business development, and project execution Manage a roadmap of strategic projects to deliver value for customers and improve business efficiency.
Own and manage the CBU approvals process and governance framework, ensuring the approval and delivery of product and segmented proposition concepts, business cases, go-to-market strategies, and product/initiatives post-eval reviews Drive overall performance by ensuring continuous improvement of processes impacting commercial delivery Orchestrate and manage an effective operating rhythm within the Consumer Business Unit, continuously optimizing in pursuit of agility and impact Manage and coordinate best practice sharing with other Vodacom and Vodafone Opcos for various CBU business areas Key Accountabilities Strategic Planning Partner with Group Strategy to formulate and articulate the Consumer Business Unit’s strategic vision and commercial priorities Develop and manage a common performance scorecard across CBU Provide commercial input and recommendations to relevant stakeholder groups based on business analysis, trends, and insights gained Coordinate and develop the Consumer Business Unit strategy and key growth initiatives (with the support of Functional Area Managing Executives and other stakeholders) necessary to achieve the strategic vision and build sustainable competitive advantage Drive full alignment around CBU’s strategic plans, considering global/local business outlooks, group strategic plans, and customer insights Act as a trusted advisor by providing value-added strategic insight, counsel, and management support to the CBU Director and executive leadership Provide insightful information and analysis to support key strategic decisions and long-term planning implementation Program and Portfolio Management Execute and deliver on the Consumer Business Unit commercial roadmap, innovation pipeline, digital transformation, and roadmap Oversee the implementation of all CBU-committed initiatives, ensuring that timelines, responsibilities, and resources are clearly defined and monitored Provide quality and accuracy for all Group required reports on monthly basis and Ad-Hocs Establish and ensure the effectiveness of (and adherence to) the project governance framework for commercial deliverables Manage the approvals process for product and segmented proposition concepts, business cases, go-to-market strategies, and post-investment reviews Facilitate executive leadership decision-making while ensuring agility and continuous innovation Business Support and Enablement Track the performance of key commercial targets across the Business Unit Coordinate and own the annual business planning process across the Business Unit (budget, strategy, and targets) Act as focal point on discussions with Finance BPs and Other Vodacom DRC and Group finance colleagues on KPIs discussions and reforecast throughout the year Partner closely with all CBU functions (Brand & Communication , Consumer Marketing, Reporting & Insights, Regions &Sales & Distribution) to improve business processes and drive cross-functional synergies and efficiencies Partner with Consumer Insights and other cross functional teams to gather key data needed to synthesize and formulate clear perspective on product and operational performance and opportunities not yet identified to drive incremental growth, increase margin and revenues in the product set Partner with other Business Units to drive collaboration, efficiencies, and best-practice sharing across the Vodacom DRC Business Units Ensure pricing decisions are aligned with business goals, approved governance structures, and financial objectives Orchestrate and manage an effective operating rhythm within the Consumer Business Unit, continuously optimizing in pursuit of agility and impact Key performance indicators:
