Through community-based rehabilitation, mental health support, and caregiver training, we aim to help children achieve independence and caregivers find emotional and financial stability.Our flagship initiative, Wezesha Rehabilitation Program, provides therapy, education, and social support to families of children with special needs in Kangemi.💼 Role OverviewWe are looking for a passionate Field Officer (Volunteer Social Worker) to support our community work in Kangemi. This role is ideal for someone with a background in social work, community development, or rehabilitation who wants to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and caregivers.You’ll be the bridge between Empowered by Ella and the families we serve — conducting home visits, supporting therapy sessions, helping collect stories and data, and contributing to the overall impact of our programs.🔑 Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular field visits to meet children and caregivers.Identify, assess, and document family and child needs.Facilitate social and mental health sessions with caregivers.Support the implementation of the Wezesha Curriculum (rehabilitation and life skills program).Collect data, case notes, and testimonials for reporting and impact measurement.Liaise with the ED and other team members to coordinate field activities.Participate in community outreach and pop-up events.🎯 RequirementsDiploma or Degree in Social Work, Community Development, or related field.At least 1 year of experience working with vulnerable children, families, or persons with disabilities.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Empathetic, patient, and committed to inclusion and dignity.Comfortable working in low-resource, community settings.Available for weekly field visits in Kangemi (Fridays).💬 Why Volunteer With UsBe part of a growing movement transforming the lives of children with special needs.Gain field experience and leadership opportunities in the non-profit sector.Work with a passionate, values-driven team.Access mentorship, networking, and impact storytelling opportunities.
