The OrganisationKildare County Employment Centre (formerly known as Obair/LES) has been providing employment services to the people in the county for the past 29 years. We are a not-for-profit company, that in the last three years has expanded significantly and are looking to recruit new board members to help drive the organisation through these exciting developments.The RoleKildare County Employment Centre are seeking to recruit a trustee with an interest in promoting social inclusion and striving towards a society where all individuals are valued and assisted in reaching their full potential.. The Board are particularly interested in individuals with recent and relevant experience in Community Development, Governance or Finance. We are also interested in Trustee’s that may wish in the future to adopt Officer roles, including that of Chairperson.General Trustee duties of a Charity TrusteeComply with the Charity’s governing documentEnsuring charity is complying with its charitable purpose for the public benefitActing in the best interest of the charityAct with Reasonable Care and SkillManage the assets of your charityResponsibilities Will Include The FollowingProviding input to the strategic direction of the Not-For-Profit and contributing with insight, oversight, and experience of strategy formulation in the sector.Policy formation and implementation as requiredEssential Skills/Qualities Required For These RolesA deep appreciation and knowledge of the Not-For-Profit sectorAn understanding of and commitment to our mission and valuesCommitment to highest levels of corporate governanceBoard MeetingsThere will be 6 board meetings a year, held virtually and we envisage the establishment of a number of sub-committees to oversee various projects
