WAFA IS LOOKING FOR APUBLIC RELATIONS SPECIALISTDo you want to become part of a global organization that identifies people and initiatives that have successfully solved local environmental challenges of access to clean water, clean air, and nutritious food? Then WAFA is for you!Become A Volunteer For WAFA (Water Air Food Awards)WAFA is a volunteer-based NGO headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. Our main activities are to identify, recognize and award community initiatives that address basic needs and collaborate with nature. By doing this, we give a voice to otherwise unknown and unheard heroes. We are seeking a skilled Public Relations Specialist to strengthen WAFA’s global visibility and brand through credible public engagement. In this role, you will build and maintain relationships with media, stakeholders, and community leaders, develop strategic PR initiatives aligned with our mission, and help position WAFA and our Silent Heroes as leading voices in sustainable solutions.Key Responsibilities:Respond to requests for information release or press conferences from the media or designate a spokesperson or source of information.Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and public interest groups.Write press releases and other media communications to promote our programs, events and initiatives.Plan or direct the development of programs to maintain favourable public and stakeholder views of the organization's mission and accomplishments.Coach internal and external representatives in effective communication with the public and WAFA applicants.Review organizational publications, newsletters or stakeholders' reports, for internal and external audiences.Coordinate with the Marketing and Branding, and Web content teams to disperse accurate information.We expect you to have:Bachelor's degree in journalism, PR, marketing or related field.Experience handling a press conference.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to pitch to the media.An ability to work on big strategy plans as well as day-to-day tasks.Ability to think both creatively and strategically.Ability to run PR campaigns that deliver measurable results and meet objectives.Deadline-oriented, inquisitive, with great follow-up and reporting skills.Creativity in securing coverage and buzz with traditional outlets.Availability to volunteer 8 - 10 hours per week.Nice to have: Experience working with NGOs or mission-driven organizations. Understanding of social media best practices across platforms. It goes without saying that you enjoy working with people, are a team player, self-driven and well-organized.You will be working remotely and require access to a computer with fast internet connection.
