In this position, you’ll be supporting senior management in regards to different growth initiatives including evaluating and integrating M&A, managing the monthly close, monthly financial reporting, and annual audit processes, and overseeing the bookkeeping function including our innovative ERP. The successful candidate will possess thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), excellent analytical skills, and the ability to execute efficiently to meet company timelines. This position will be based in New York City.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProviding strong accounting and financial leadership to inform strategic initiatives, ensure the integrity of the financial statements and adherence to company policies and proceduresUnderstanding GAAP and Preparing timely and accurate GAAP financial statements and reports, driven by a tightly managed monthly close processGL intercompany and consolidationsEnsuring the business is structured in a tax-efficient and compliant manner and overseeing the process with external tax preparers with timely and accurate tax filingsManaging the annual financial audit and serving as the main point of contact with our external auditors for the annual audit, as well as quarterly reviews inclusive of financial statement rollout and footnote disclosuresOverseeing the ERP to provide accurate records of assets, liabilities and financial transactionsDeveloping the long-term vision for the ongoing evolution of financial systems and helping deliver on that visionManaging, mentoring and providing a development path for team members, including hiring, training, motivating and addressing performance issueFostering an environment of doing the basics well, embracing continuous improvement and delivering impactful insight and informationEducation, Experience And Skills7+ years of relevant accounting experience that includes supervisory responsibilitiesExperience working for a fast-growth company that ideally is backed by private equity or venture capitalExperience working at a public accounting firm preferredM&A experience specifically with auditing and integrating financial systems from multiple exterior companiesStrong technical accounting experience requiredProcess driven; ability to implement and optimize systemsPrevious GL management experience requiredBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. CPA preferredDeep knowledge of GAAPStrong understanding of tax reporting and complianceExperience with progressively increasing responsibility and broader-scale management, including leading a high-performing team and developing leaders from withinSuperb analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detailAbility to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deliverables/workstreams and delegating to appropriate resourcesAbility to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction, while also possessing a talent for team collaborationGood judgment and resourcefulness with the ability to make timely and sound decisionsExpert proficiency with various accounting software platforms and Microsoft Office (Excel)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsThe pay range for this position is: $200,000 - $220,000 per year. This position is also eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.
