VP Global Cards - Founding Leadership Hire.We are partnering with a well-funded fintech group to build a new global payments and cards venture. The company is launching from Singapore and will operate as an independent entity with full backing and resources from a large, established parent organization.This is a founding leadership role for an experienced cards/payments executive who can own the strategy, P&L, and product roadmap for a global card-issuing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking the product from market selection and partner setup to launch, scale, and multi-country expansion.What you will own: Define and lead the end-to-end strategy for the Global Cards business: market selection, structure, partner ecosystem, go-to-market, and scaling.Own the P&L and commercial model, interchange, FX spread, network incentives, fees, rewards, and cost structure.Design and execute a multi-market expansion plan, initially focused on Southeast Asia and Africa.Build the initial product stack: virtual & physical cards, rewards tiers, crypto ↔ fiat flows, funding and settlement.Source, negotiate, and performance-manage key partners (BIN sponsors,Visa/Mastercard, processors, CaaS, KYC/AML, liquidity).Build and lead a founding product and operations team.Act as the primary strategic counterpart to founders and investors.What we’re looking for:10–15+ years in cards or payments, including 5+ years in senior leadership (VP /Head / GM) roles.Proven track record of owning and scaling card programs across multiple markets.Deep experience with Visa/Mastercard, BIN sponsorship, issuer processing, network rules, and fraud/dispute frameworks.Strong understanding of crypto–fiat flows, KYC/AML, PCI DSS, and data privacy.Experience building from 0 → 1, ideally at FinTechs, payments companies, or crypto platforms.Familiarity with Southeast Asia and/or African markets is a plus.Comfortable operating with autonomy in a startup-style environment.What’s on offer:Competitive base compensation.Performance-based bonus + ESOP.Relocation support to Singapore (if applicable).The opportunity to build a global cards business from the ground up with strong financial backing.Reference profile examples: Ideal candidates may have backgrounds like senior leaders at:Global crypto card issuers (e.g. Crypto.com, Wirex, KuCoin, Bybit, Gemini, Paybis).Card issuing platforms (e.g. Marqeta, Checkout.com Issuing, Episode Six).Fintech scale-ups with global card programs (e.g. Revolut, N26, Curve, StripeIssuing, Adyen, Rapyd).Regional card players (e.g. StraitsX, YouTrip, Grab alumni).If you’ve built or run a global cards business and want to lead a greenfield venture with real backing, we’d love to hear from you.
