Vice President of Engineering [SaaS & AI]Role OverviewThis is a strategic leadership position responsible for driving innovation, operational excellence, and delivery of scalable performance across Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, and Product Engineering teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute a forward-looking engineering strategy aligned with product roadmap, GTM initiatives, and revenue goals.Lead globally distributed engineering teams across cloud, platform, and product domains to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.Oversee architecture, development, and deployment of secure, reliable, and high-performance SaaS products.Champion modern engineering practices, including DevOps, AI-native development, and cloud-native architectures.Establish systems for performance measurement, delivery forecasting, and metric tracking.Build and nurture a world-class engineering culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Customer Success, and Commercial teams to align technology initiatives with business outcomes.Serve as executive sponsor for large-scale cloud, platform, and infrastructure transformation initiatives.Advise executive leadership and the board on technology strategy, balancing innovation with business impact.Experience & QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from a leading academic institution 15 + years of Software Engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior or executive leadership roles.Proven success scaling large, distributed engineering organisations (within high-growth SaaS companies.Expertise in cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, DevOps, and platform engineering.Track record of delivering complex, high-impact SaaS products to enterprise customers.Strong operational acumen with experience implementing performance and delivery metrics.Executive presence with the ability to influence C-level and board stakeholders.Experienced in leading transformation initiatives across technology, process, and culture.
