The OpportunityWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Aboriginal Leader to take on the role of General Manager – Waalitj Hub, supporting the growth and sustainability of Aboriginal businesses across Western Australia. This position reports directly to the CEO on a full-time fixed term position until 30 June 2026, possibility of extension Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic and operational leadership of the Hub, ensuring alignment with community needs and business objectives. Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality support services to Aboriginal businesses. Build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal communities, business owners, government stakeholders, and industry partners.
Oversee day-to-day operations, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and service delivery. Ensure culturally safe, inclusive, and empowering practices are embedded in all aspects of the Hub’s operations. To have success in the role you will be a highly adaptable, motivated, and innovative leader, who enjoys rising to new challenges. Tertiary qualifications/professional qualifications in a discipline related to Business, Legal, or relevant fieldMinimum 10 years’ experience in senior leadership position Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person (This is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984). Proven experience in business management, economic development, or enterprise support. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. Strong community engagement and stakeholder relationship-building capabilities. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. A commitment to Aboriginal self-determination and economic empowerment. Will be required to travel to Regional WA and interstate What We Offer:
