QualificationsCompletion of Office Administration Medical diploma, Health Unit Clerk certificate with Medical Terminology Course (1 and 2 or equivalent), or equivalent hospital based trainingOne year of Ward Clerk patient care unit experience in the last five (5) yearsRecent evidence in the ability and proficiency in computer skills related to an electronic health record environmentProficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applicationsDemonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independentlyDemonstrated problem solving and decision making skillsDemonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environmentDemonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the positionDemonstrated competence in written, oral and telephone communication skillsAbility to respect and promote confidentialityAbility to perform the duties of the position on a regular basisAbility to respect and promote a culturally diverse populationAbility to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients and within interdisciplinary team
