Watchmaker Genomics specializes in the design, development, and production of DNA- and RNA-modifying enzymes that enable high-growth applications in genomics, molecular diagnostics, and personalized medicine.Position DescriptionWatchmaker is inviting applications for the full-time position of Warehouse Technician based In Cape Town, South Africa.This position reports to the Logistics Manager and will be responsible for receiving incoming materials, inventory control, and shipping customer orders. This individual will be accountable for ensuring materials are processed quickly and help manage inventory levels and Kanbans.The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment and contribute directly to our company culture and success. The position provides an opportunity to grow and develop as a leader.ResponsibilitiesSupport dispatch and shipment preparation, including labeling and documentationReceive raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods according to policies and procedures.Support shipping of orders in a timely manner, according to ship dates. Perform kitting functions and respective documentationMaintain and update inventory databases as part of cycle count activities.Maintain FIFO/FEFO of all inventory.Assist with Kanban ordering and maintenanceMaintain dock and shipping areas to be clean, safe, and presentable at all timesRoutine collection and deliveries between sites. Assist in revising SOPs or implementing improvementsIdentify opportunities to improve kitting and assembly efficiency while maintaining compliance.Contribute to continuous improvement of the processes and procedures in the warehouse functionsOperate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and per SOPsFollow health and safety regulations (e.g., PPE use, spill control, waste segregation).Store materials in designated, controlled areas under required environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity).Other duties as assignedSkills And RequirementsThe following skills and experience are requirements for the position:Previous experience obtained in a Pharmaceutical or FMCG environment or similar role Licensed driverAbility to work well with multiple and competing deadlines.Sound judgment and excellent problem-solving skills.Attention to detailFlexibility to work irregular hours, including occasional weekends, when requiredBasic written and verbal communication skillsPractical experience with computer softwareEducationMatric+ 4 years experience in a similar role within a Pharmaceutical or Biotech environment or similar role Application RequirementsTo apply for the position, please submit the following in a PDF format on watchmakergenomics.com:Letter of motivation (upload where it says cover letter)Resume or Curriculum vitae, highlighting relevant qualifications and experienceApplications without a Letter of Motivation will not be considered.
