About The RoleThe Yard Hand for Warehousing & Logistics plays a vital hands on proactive role in supporting daily freight, warehousing, and yard operations to ensure efficiency, safety and compliance across Qube Energy Transport’s logistics network.This position contributes directly to the smooth running of inbound and outbound freight, warehouse stock control, and yard coordination. The role also supports asset readiness, site organisation, and safety compliance within the QE Transport site.A proactive and safety-focused individual, the Yard Hand ensures yard and warehouse operations are carried out efficiently, aligning with Qube Energy’s operational, compliance, and customer service standards under the Qube Safe framework.Location: Darwin, NT!Specific ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and perform daily warehouse and yard operations, ensuring efficient movement and storage of freight and equipmentConduct loading and unloading of vehicles in line with Qube’s Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and Load Restraint GuidelinesAssist with inventory management including receiving, dispatching, and stock control within the warehouseMaintain accurate documentation of freight movements, manifests, and proof of delivery (POD) recordsLiaise with drivers, subcontractors, and logistics staff to ensure smooth daily operations and job completionMaintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse and yard environmentPerform daily pre-start checks on forklifts, lifting devices, and other yard equipmentSupport project freight coordination and staging for large-scale operationsMonitor the safe storage and segregation of dangerous goods (DG) where applicableLead by example in safety compliance and ensure all team members adhere to site HSE proceduresReport defects, incidents, and near misses via INX and support root cause follow-upsAssist with the coordination of maintenance and repairs of warehouse and yard equipmentSupervise casual labour or assist as a leading hand during busy operational periodsParticipate in daily toolbox meetings and safety briefingsUndertake other duties as required to support Qube Energy Transport’s operational objectivesEssential Skills & ExperienceProven experience in warehouse, yard, or logistics operationsStrong understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and load restraint practicesCurrent forklift (LF) licenceCurrent HR class driver’s licence or aboveCompetent in basic computer systems (POD entry, manifests, CoR checklists.
