Job Description

Duties/ResponsibilitiesJob Skills / RequirementsResponsibilitiesSPO (Armed) Dispatcher shall perform Specific duties and shall have specific responsibilities which are documented in Government provided DOC Post Orders. They shall be thoroughly familiar with the duties and responsibilities of the Post to which they are assigned. They shall remain vigilant throughout their shift period, not engaging in or being distracted by activities that might have an impact on their situation awareness. Dispatcher’s duties shall include but are not limited to:Monitoring the computer-based ESS alarm and access control systems and closed-circuit television systemsMonitoring electrical, water, and or gas alarms and notifying the Shift Supervisor and when necessary, requesting external emergency response services. Performing emergency shutdown of utility services when necessaryEmergency response coordinationTelephone and radio communication coordination between the Shift Supervisor and SPO’sInternal and external emergency notificationMaintenance of a daily activity log of incidents: and preparation of reports of incidentsMaintaining a lost and found articles logReceiving, issuing, storing, and accounting for controlled propertyResponding to Kennedy Center staff and the public regarding security-related questions (lost and found, etc.)QualificationsMust be a United States CitizenDispatcher shall possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a SOC which includes experience in the operation of computer-based alarm monitoring, access control systems and radio/telephoneAbility to read and wrote English fluentlyAbility to speak and understand English fluentlyAbility to provide calm, courteous, and concise information over the radio or phone in stressful or emergency situationAbility to prepare and maintain complete and comprehensive reportsAbility to maintain constant liaison with on-scene personnel and responders in the event of an emergencyTraining RequirementsAll SPOs must complete the training requirements and pass the required written examination.All SPOs must take the following training:40 hours of Initials Weapons TrainingX-ray and MagnetometerFitness for duty certificationEmergency Evacuation ProceduresCode BravoWatch Tour ProceduresCertification Requirements (All)DCSPO Armed LicenseOC Spray CertificationHandcuffing CertificationCPR/First Aid CardEducation Requirements (Any)Associates DegreeHigh School Diploma/GEDCertification Requirements (All)DC Armed SPOO.C. aerosol sprayCPR/First AidAdditional Information / BenefitsBenefits: Medical Insurance, Life Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Paid Vacation, Paid Sick Days, Paid HolidaysThis job reports to the Operations ManagerThis is a Full and Part-Time position 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, 3rd Shift, Weekends.Number of Openings for this position: 3Back Apply NowBackApply Now
