You'll gain hands-on experience in water resources projects, primarily supporting municipal clients throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.If you are eager to learn, contribute, and grow professionally, this position offers the chance to go as far as your ambition, dedication, and work ethic will take you.What you'll doConduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard softwareSupport senior engineers on various project tasks, including data collection, analysis, and designAssist with the development of reports, plans, and specificationsDevelop a strong understanding of water resources engineering principles, regulations, and softwareWork closely with experienced engineers, scientists, and plannersSupport the creation of high-quality project outcomes for our municipal clientsGain experience with ArcGIS for project supportMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with coursework in water resources (including hydrology and hydraulics)0-2 years of professional experience in water resources, or a strong internship/co-op background in the fieldFamiliarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software: Coursework or project experience with tools like SWMM, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMSPreferred QualificationsBasic understanding of GIS software: Experience with ArcGIS is a plusStrong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn new concepts and technologiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to work effectively in a team environmentDependable and responsible with a strong work ethicMust have a valid driver’s license, ability to pass a DMV record check, and be insurableAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
