About the roleThe Admin and Procurement Expert will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of Utility Strengthening Project's operation of WaterAid Bangladesh by leading procurement processes and providing high-quality administrative support. This position is responsible for managing procurement activities in compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements, while also overseeing administrative systems, logistics, and office management.
The role contributes to the delivery of WaterAid's programmes by ensuring timely availability of goods, services, and a well-functioning work environment that supports staff productivity and wellbeing. In this role, you will: 1. Procurement Develop and implement procurement plans following WaterAid guidelines. Coordinate with project and operations teams to forecast and meet procurement needs. 2. Vendor & Contract Management Build and manage relationships with vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery. Monitor vendor performance and conduct regular evaluations. 3. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, contracts, and audit trails. Ensure proper archiving and accessibility of all procurement documents. 4.
Administration & Logistics Review comparative statements and analysis as part of the procurement committee. Support project office hiring and manage office facilities. The responsibilities outlined above may be subject to periodic review and revision in consultation with the line manager. RequirementsTo be successful, you will need: Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration, or a related field. Professional certification in procurement or supply chain (e. g. , CIPS, CPSM) is an added advantage. Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in administration and procurement, preferably in an INGO or development sector context. Skills and knowledge:
Strong background in managing procurement processes, vendor relationships, and administrative operations, with proven experience supporting donor-funded projects and ensuring compliance with procurement regulations. Experience in logistics, office management, and event coordination is essential, along with a good understanding of ethical and environmentally responsible procurement practices. Competencies:
