About the Team: WaterAid Ghana's Sustainable Programmes Department (SPD). This department provides strategic and technical guidance to fulfil WAG's programme objectives. The UAPT is committed to designing and implementing projects that adhere to the highest standards, with a focused aim of significantly enhancing the well-being of the underprivileged and vulnerable. This dedication aligns seamlessly with WaterAid's broader objective for Aim 1, ensuring impactful health outcomes through universal access to WASH.

About the Role: The Project Assistant serves as a vital link between WaterAid's strategic objectives and the successful implementation of community-focused project activities, and within the overall context to delivering universal access to sustainable WASH in the Bongo district. The role emphasises working closely with partners, communities, and stakeholders to plan, execute, and monitor activities that align with WaterAid's Programme Quality Standards, Project Management Standards, and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) frameworks. In this, you will;Project Planning and ImplementationDevelop and implement work plans to timely achieve project milestones.

Planning and implementation of training programs related to specific project thematic areas, including collating training materials, guidelines, manuals, and compiling training reportsPrepare terms of reference and requisitions for activity funds to facilitate effective and timely implementation of project activities. delivery and distribution.

Stakeholder EngagementPlan and facilitate community engagement activities, including organizing community meetings and facilitating discussions where necessaryPlan and facilitate co-ordination meetings with partners, donors, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation, learning and reportingCommunication and AdvocacySupport effective communication between the project team, implementing partners and community participants, ensuring timely information sharing to strengthen community engagement and support networksContribute to the design and implement awareness raising and advocacy campaigns at community, sub-district and district levelsMonitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)Support field-level monitoring and evaluation efforts by collaborating with partners to review project experiences, address challenges, and develop actionable solutionsFoster accountability by actively engaging community members and stakeholders, documenting their feedback, and ensuring concerns are addressed appropriatelyAssist in ensuring MEAL systems comply with PMER Core Procedures and meet donor requirementsRequirementsTo be successful, you'll need:

A university degree or professional qualification in a relevant field such as public health, social science, project management, or development studiesAt least 2 years of experience in project planning, development, and management, including a deep understanding of project lifecycle phases, tools, and processesDemonstrate understanding in Water and Sanitation for Health Facility Improvement Tool (WASH FIT), Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) concepts and approachesSkills in training design and facilitation, employing adult learning principles to enhance partner capabilitiesDesirable skills:

Proficiency in community management, fostering integration between water supply, sanitation, hygiene, and broader development initiativesDemonstrated experience in advocacy, focusing on Human Rights-based, pro-poor approaches and promoting equity and inclusion within development projectsExperience in working with a donor agency, NGO, civil society or the private sectorAwareness of gender, equity and social inclusion (GESI) in WASH, integrating these perspectives into development programming to enhance programme qualityView Full Job Description HereClosing date: Applications will close at 23: 59 on 1st September 2025.
