Job Description
As a Web Experience Designer & Payload Developer, you will play a key role in shaping and building the next generation of our content-driven web experiences. You will be responsible for designing reusable templates, implementing them within Payload CMS, and creating modular components and widgets that allow our teams to scale content production efficiently. This hybrid role combines design sensibility with hands-on front-end development and CMS integration, ensuring our digital properties are both visually engaging and technically robust.ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver reusable page templates (e.g., product landing pages) that are brand-consistent and scalableCreate designs in Figma for reviewBuild and configure these templates in Payload CMS, ensuring editors can easily manage and repurpose themDevelop and implement reusable widgets/components (e.g., author profile cards, live pricing blocks, rich content sections)Collaborate with Organic Growth, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure templates and widgets align with performance, UX, and SEO/AIO requirementsEnsure responsive design and accessibility standards are applied consistently across all componentsIntegrate external data sources (e.g., APIs for pricing, content feeds) into CMS-driven componentsProvide technical documentation and training for internal teams on how to best use and scale the systems you buildStay current with design and front-end development best practices, as well as advancements in CMS frameworks, to bring innovation to our web experienceRequirements4+ years of experience in web design and front-end development, ideally within global or content-heavy environmentsDemonstrated experience with Payload CMS (or equivalent headless CMS platforms such as Strapi, Sanity, Contentful) including content modelling and custom component build-outsStrong design skills with a portfolio showcasing UI/UX and component-based systemsProficiency in modern front-end technologies (React/Next.js, TypeScript, CSS frameworks)Ability to design and code reusable widgets and components that integrate seamlessly with CMS workflowsFamiliarity with accessibility, responsive design, and performance optimisationExperience working with APIs and dynamic data integrationsFluent in English with strong communication and collaboration skills; able to partner with cross-functional teamsSelf-sufficient, detail-oriented, and able to deliver at pace in a fast-moving environment
