Position SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Claims Manager to oversee and manage our claims portfolio with a focus on Workers’ Compensation (60%) and General Liability/Auto Liability (40%).
This role plays a critical part in ensuring effective claims handling, risk mitigation, and compliance with applicable regulations while supporting injured employees and protecting company assets. Workers’ Compensation (60%)Manage end-to-end Workers’ Compensation claims across multiple jurisdictions. Partner with third-party administrators (TPAs), adjusters, medical providers, and legal counsel to drive claim resolution and minimize costs. Monitor claim reserves, return-to-work programs, and modified duty assignments. Review incident reports, investigate claims, and ensure timely filing/reporting to carriers and state agencies. Analyze trends and loss data to identify opportunities for prevention and risk control.
Educate field management and HR on WC processes and injury management best practices. Liability (40%)Manage General Liability and Auto Liability claims in coordination with TPAs and insurers. Conduct or support internal investigations and witness interviews. Track litigation and pre-litigation activity, ensuring proper documentation and escalation. Collaborate with Legal, Safety, and Operations teams to mitigate liability exposure. Review accident reports and assess risk and potential liability. Assist in subrogation and recovery efforts. Qualifications5–8 years of experience in claims management with a strong focus on Workers’ Compensation and Liability claims. Experience working with TPAs, insurers, and legal counsel in multi-state environments.
Familiarity with applicable laws and regulations governing WC and liability claims. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; ARM, AIC, or other insurance-related certifications preferred. Preferred ExperienceTransportation, logistics, or transit industry background. Experience with claim reporting systems and dashboards. Knowledge of safety and risk mitigation programs.
