Job Description

Are you ready to design and develop the world’s most advanced Doppler Radars?At Weibel, you’ll join a truly technology-driven company delivering cutting-edge Doppler Radar systems worldwide. Due to growing demand, we’re expanding our team. We’re looking for a new colleague to help shape the next generation of our sophisticated radar systems.

Design and Verification of Radar System StructuresAs a Mechanical CAE Designer, your primary responsibility will be to develop and validate mechanical solutions that ensure optimal radar performance under all operating conditions. Your key tasks will include: Designing and verifying mechanical structures under static and dynamic loads (e. g. , wind, maritime conditions), ensuring both structural and thermal stability. Collaborating with colleagues to develop and refine Pedestal and Mobile Tracking Base designs. Planning and executing test and evaluation campaigns for mechanical components and complete radar systems. Identifying performance limitations and proposing improvements.

Participating in prototype assembly, testing, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) reviews with our in-house production team. About youYou’re a fast learner who can quickly contribute to ongoing design tasks while gaining insight into the specific trade-offs involved in radar system development. Your CV includes: A university degree in Mechanical Engineering. Strong proficiency in FEM/FEA simulations (we use Ansys). Knowledge of CFD is a plus. Solid understanding of material properties. Experience with CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault. Preferably, experience designing for harsh environments — from arctic cold to desert heat.

Familiarity with CE compliance considerations is an advantage. Strong communication skills in English. Radar-specific knowledge is not required — we provide a tailored introduction to radar technology. Your new teamYou’ll join Weibel’s Technology Department, home to over 200 skilled and passionate professionals. Within our 15-person mechanical engineering subgroup, you’ll work alongside colleagues with experience ranging from a few years to over three decades. We believe in close collaboration across disciplines — mechanical, electronic, hardware, and system design — because we know that the best solutions come from diverse perspectives working together from the start.
