As they continue to scale internationally, we're hiring a Development Operations Lead to build and lead a high-impact function across DevOps, QA, and secure development.
This is a hybrid technical leadership role with influence across the entire software lifecycle - perfect for someone who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, shape the tooling and process landscape, and eventually scale a world-class team from the ground up. The OpportunityThis is more than just a DevOps role - it’s your chance to architect the future of how software is built, tested, and secured in a company whose platforms are critical to national infrastructure. Initially hands-on, you’ll define the frameworks and technical direction across global teams, working closely with Engineering, Product, and Executive Leadership.
Over time, you’ll build and lead a function of 8–10 engineers spanning DevOps, QA, and development security, ensuring the company can scale with stability, speed, and confidence. This is a deeply cross-functional role, with the opportunity to influence product quality, accelerate delivery cycles, and embed secure-by-design thinking into every release. What You’ll Do: Build & Lead: Take ownership of building the Development Operations function globally - including hiring, mentoring, and developing talent across DevOps, QA, and DevSecOps. Drive DevOps Strategy: Design and evolve scalable CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling in Azure.
Automate and optimise build, release, and deployment workflows. Shape QA Capability: Define a modern QA automation strategy that integrates seamlessly into CI/CD processes. Champion testing best practices and performance metrics. Embed Secure Development: Foster a DevSecOps culture - integrating security into every stage of the SDLC and ensuring alignment with global compliance standards. Enable SaaS Scalability: Collaborate on infrastructure enhancements that ensure uptime, performance, and global scale across mission-critical applications. What We’re Looking For: Deep hands-on experience in Azure DevOps environments with strong proficiency in CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
A track record of technical leadership, including mentoring engineers and guiding cross-functional teams. Strong experience with QA automation frameworks and test integration within development pipelines. Solid grasp of DevSecOps principles and secure development practices. Collaborative by nature – able to influence without authority and bring stakeholders along the journey. Experience in utilities, energy, or industrial software is a strong plus.
