The opportunityWe have an exciting opportunity available for an accomplished go-getter with strong leadership skills to join our Transportation team and take on the challenge of leading the delivery of our road maintenance and renewal programmes β€” driving performance, innovation, and service excellence across our network. As Team Leader:

Road Maintenance you will be responsible for the timely and efficient maintenance and renewal of Council's transportation assets, which include 920km of sealed carriageway, 153km of unsealed carriageway and 249 bridges. Your Key Responsibilities Will IncludeWorking with our Manager: Network Operations and Maintenance to deliver on Council's aspirations to be a paragon of road network maintenance. Lead a team of 4 staff. Overseeing the procurement of road maintenance contracts. Overseeing the programming and prioritisation of routine, reactive, and planned maintenance activities. Managing and supervising road maintenance contractors to ensure that Council's requirements are met.

Ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. Ensuring that customers are provided with accurate and timely information.

To set you up for success, you'll haveBe familiar with the mechanics of local government,Possess thorough knowledge of road construction, maintenance techniques, and engineering principles,Be a passionate and energetic leader and mentor who leads by example,Possess the analytical skills needed to prioritise activities based on need and resource availability,Be a strong collaborator able to build trust and influence stakeholders, andPossess financial acumen and experience of budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
