You will gain exposure to working in the Architecture team with the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people right across our enterprise.

We are offering a permanent graduate position on a tailored programme which has been designed with future leaders in mind. Our current programme is based in Auckland and will run for approximately 10-12 months. You’ll start with us as a permanent employee in February 2026 on an immersive orientation which will help grow your understanding of Westpac NZ along with the wider grad cohort. At the end of your programme, you’ll be supported to find a suitable role that matches your capabilities and interests within your business area.

Throughout The ProgrammeTechnology and Architecture champions, leaders and mentors will support you during the programme experience. The programme is structured to help you identify your focus areas whilst tailored training sessions build and strengthen your technical and soft skills - accelerating your personal and professional career development. Expect to be able to give back by joining numerous communities, volunteering and sustainability initiatives rounding out your whole work life experience.

As a graduate within the architecture craft you will assist in a diverse range of activities within the craft, from helping design and implement technology solutions that meet business requirements to owning and driving architecture compliance requirements. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders across the business and technology and will work closely with senior architects and project teams to deliver effective technology solutions. The Day To DayArchitecture Compliance (Primary responsibility): Participate in architecture compliance activities ensuring continuity and consistency. Own the architecture controls regarding the completion of Critical Application List (CAL) and Service Risk Assessment (SRA) processes.

Collaborate closely with Risk and Engineering partners to ensure the completion of compliance activities e. g. CAL and SRA. Control and Issue management. Facilitate the reviews of all architecture standards and policies. Maintaining and evolving our use of Alfabet and the Architecture Knowledge Base which serves as our application inventory as well as technology evaluations. Collaboration: High collaboration with the team to continuously improve and evolve the architecture craft. Support Architects: Assist Solution Architects with their initiatives and projects, therefore gaining valuable experience in the craft of architecture.

?u P?kenga | About YouTo be eligible, you must be in your final year of study or have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the past 12 months. Our Graduate opportunities are entry level roles giving those on the programme broad exposure across the relevant business unit. Additionally, applicants must be New Zealand or Australian citizens or permanent residents. We’re looking for forward-thinking graduates with a passion for technology, innovation, and teamwork. Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Computer Science and be able to demonstrate relevant experience gained through academic projects, internships, or extracurricular activities.
