About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join Windcave’s Accounting team in Auckland Central. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this is a role to support the existing Finance team. You will work closely with a team of AP Accountants, Senior Accountants and effectively liaise with other departments within the business. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to: Accurate and Timely Invoice Processing:
Receive, review, and process invoices with accuracy, match invoices with purchase orders, ensure proper authorization and documentation for payment, resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise, assuring the smooth flow of payment run processes. Purchase orders: Creating, amending and resolving purchase orders, ensuring appropriate authorisation. Account Payable Reconciliation: verifying entries supplier statements for trade accounts to the account payable ledger, identify and resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate records of payables. Reconcile creditors due for payment. Periodic analysis will be conducted to address any outstanding balances or discrepancies. Efficiently managing AP tickets.
Set up and maintain vendor details in ERP system. Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely. Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and subsidiary accounts. Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant tax regulations (e. g. , GST/VAT)Financial Analysis: Assist in the preparation of financial analysis, providing valuable support during audits and financial reviews. Assisting with monthly reconciliations in the wider finance team. Assisting with month end closing and financial reporting process. Support external and internal audits by preparing necessary documentation.
In addition, you will embrace the opportunity to identify areas for process improvement within the Accounts function.
