About Emil Anderson MaintenanceEmil Anderson Maintenance (EAM) is the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MoTT) highway and bridge maintenance contractor for three service areas in British Columbia: Service Area 7 (Fraser Valley), Service Area 20 (Robson), and Service Area 26 (Skeena).For decades, EAM has delivered reliable road and bridge maintenance across urban and rural corridors. Our teams perform the full scope of highway maintenance activities, including vegetation control, drainage, sign and pavement repairs, concrete and wood bridge repair, gravel surface grading, anti‑icing, snow plowing, and incident and emergency response. Joining our team means working on landmark projects, learning from industry leaders, and advancing your career in a supportive, safety-focused culture.The OpportunityWe're seeking applications for Winter Highway Maintenance Workers/Labourers for the Service Area 20 (Robson), which includes: Blue River, Valemount, Tête Jaune Cache, and McBride. This is a seasonal, full-time position consisting of manual labour and operating plow trucks. Multiple positions available.As a Winter Highway Maintenance Worker with Emil Anderson Maintenance (EAM), you’ll help keep roads safe and reliable throughout the winter season. You’ll operate plow and sanding trucks, support hands‑on road repairs, and work with a skilled crew to respond quickly and work safely in all weather. This is a physically demanding, labour‑intensive role that involves outdoor work in cold, snowy conditions and extended shifts when needed. If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in essential community service, and thrive in a fast‑paced, team environment, this role is for you.Although we are a union‑affiliated organization, being an active member is not a prerequisite.Your Key ResponsibilitiesRemoval of snow and ice by safely using snow removal and/or sanding equipment.Completion of pre-trip and post trip inspections.Changing snowplow blades.Patching potholes and jackhammering.Doing maintenance and minor service works on vehicles.Digging out plugged drains, maintaining shrubbery, and picking up litter.Any other duties as required.Your Qualifications & SkillsWorking safely is a condition of employment.Minimum class 3 with air brake endorsement.Previous snow plowing and heavy equipment experience is an asset.Willing to work; days, nights, weekends and holidays.Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 is an asset.T work required in the event of a snowstorm.Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors.Acknowledge this position can be labour intensive.Willing to work outside in all weather conditions.Valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean abstract.What We OfferThe chance to be part of essential roadway operations that keep communities across British Columbia safe and moving, while building your career with a company that’s been trusted for over 85 years.
