The work enables USCIS to modernize IT systems, enhance mission delivery, and support major enterprise initiatives such as digitization, cloud migration, and software-defined networking.
The Wireless Network Administrator will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and troubleshooting enterprise wireless networks. This role requires expertise in Wi-Fi design, 802. 11 standards, RF planning, WLAN monitoring, and security, with experience supporting high-performance networks in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The administrator will ensure seamless connectivity, implement optimization strategies, and support SD-WAN and cloud-based WLAN solutions. Responsibilities Manage and optimize enterprise wireless network operations to ensure high-performance and seamless connectivity. Design, implement, and maintain wireless LANs in accordance with 802. 11 standards, including Wi-Fi 6. Perform RF planning, network optimization, and capacity management to ensure coverage and performance goals are met.
Troubleshoot WLAN issues, analyze performance metrics, and recommend improvements. Monitor network performance using WLAN monitoring tools and dashboards. Implement and maintain Wi-Fi security measures, including WPA3, RADIUS, and other security protocols. Collaborate with SD-WAN and cloud teams to integrate WLAN solutions into hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Document wireless network configurations, operational procedures, and best practices. Qualifications REQUIRED: 5–7+ years of experience in wireless network administration or operations. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field strongly preferred; Advanced degree preferred. Proven expertise in:
Wireless network design and WLAN operations 11 standards and Wi-Fi 6 RF planning and network optimization WLAN troubleshooting and monitoring Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage and optimize enterprise wireless networks balancing performance, security, and scalability. Must be eligible to obtain DHS Suitability clearance. Desired Experience with Wi-Fi security protocols and best practices. Experience SD-WAN and cloud-based WLAN solutions. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is fully remote.
