Job Description

Job DescriptionWood is recruiting for a National Chef to join our team in Equatorial Guinea. The Chef will be part of a busy kitchen brigade at camp facility serving international and local cuisines. Please note this position is only open to National Equatorial Guinea personnel. Location: Equatorial GuineaRotation \ Work Pattern: 6-day week \ 10-hour dayResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities: Plans and prepares foods in accordance with the Chef Supervisors instructions. Assist in the ordering of food supplies necessary to prepare the planned menus for the number of in-house clients.

Prepare meals and snacks in such a way that a minimum of nutrients is lost from food, and to ensure foods taste good and look appealing to the clients and that there are ample amounts of food at serving time as they need. Maintains established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation and storage as set by the Services Supervisor as well as maintaining a clean, orderly and safe kitchen. With the Guidance of the Chef Supervisor the cook assists in modifying the menus and recipes and prepares foods to meet the needs of clients or customers.

Shares duties with the Assistant Cook(s) for efficient functioning of food service as well as any cleaning functions in and around the Kitchen as well as the restaurant if required and under the direct supervision of the Chef Supervisor. Maintains cost effective control measure, budget, and inventory under the supervision of the Chef Supervisors procedures including temperature records of food served. Assures the proper care and maintenance of all food service equipment; identifies equipment needs for food preparation and service and assists in purchasing if needed by the Services Supervisor.

Assists in unloading of food supplies for the Kitchen as well as assisting in the storage of all food deliveries. Cooperates and carries out duties delegated by the Chef Supervisor. Participates in all emergency drills and safety activities. Attends and participates in pre-service of all meals and assists in the service times at all meals (breakfast, Lunch and dinner) dependent on shift pattern. Participates in general staff meetings and other meetings (Toolbox Talks) and events planned by the Chef Supervisor or client if needed.

Several years of experience as a Chef, preferably in a remote site, hospitality, or oil & gas environment. Strong knowledge of international and local cuisines. DesirableFluency in English requiredSpanish desirableProven leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and communication abilities. Work EnvironmentThe Camp includes a kitchen facility and employee cafeteria within a mixed-use office and residential complex. The Chef will work in a structured, safety-conscious environment aligned with Company Emergency Management and EHSR protocols.
