Required to work offshore and to a ssist the Safety Officer in HSE related matters in the day-to-day operations. Please note this position is only open to National Equatorial Guinea personnel. Location: offshore Equatorial GuineaRotation / Work Pattern: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off, 7-day week / 12 hour dayResponsibilitiesRequired to assist the Safety Officer in HSE related matters in the day-to-day operations.
Actively follow up the work performed at the assigned location, correct unsafe conditions and promote safe behavior and provide hands-on support and field supervision to the crew, and ensure necessary compliance with regulatory requirements and Hexagon and client management system. Key ResponsibilitiesAssist Safety Officer in HSE related matters in the day-to-day operation. Actively follow up the work performed at the assigned location, correct unsafe conditions and promote safe behavior and provide hands-on support and field supervision to the crew, and ensure necessary compliance with regulatory requirements and Hexagon and client management system.
Inspect, preserve and ensure proper maintenance of the safety equipment. Ensure proper safety measures for confined space entry and work equipment in accordance with company policies. Perform the arrival and disembark safety briefings and prepare HSE meetings as required. Participate in the investigation of accidents, near miss reports, area inspection and monitoring of these reports. Assist in administration and update of safety notices and safety boards, as well as in administration and follow up of the Safety Observation Card program on board. Control and distribution of Safety/PPE material.
Control use of hazardous substances and assist to monitor MSDS database. Know in detail and raise awareness of the crew about the risk map and PPRA (Planning, Preparation, and Response). Secure sufficient resources onboard for proper waste management and oil/chemicals spill handling. Take an active part in implementing HSE procedures to be aligned with legal and governing requirements. Support Permit to Work so that is controlled and adhered to as per requirements of the system. Member of the Emergency Response Team, assist in drills/exercises according to location’s emergency response plan and authorities’ requirements.
Undertake training relevant to the position requirements. Complete on-the-job training and competency requirements for the position. QualificationsWhat makes you remarkable?Essential Requirements For This RolePossess several years previous experience in a similar position or as a Technician in the oil & gas industry. College degree or equivalent NEBOSH General Certificate or similar BOSIET & MIST certificationDesirableFluent in written and spoken English. Understanding of computerized maintenance management system (SAP will be a differential). Knowledge of risk assessment tools. Excellent knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation. Incident analysis and investigation techniques.
Solid understanding of technical safety systems (fire & gas detection, passive and active safety systems), Emergency Response and technical diagrams.
