Consider applying with us today!Job SummaryPerforms a variety of office support and/or administrative duties for specified units/departments, such as composing and word processing a variety of standard documents and correspondence, relaying and resolving routine telephone and/or walk-up inquiries, scheduling calendar items, events and meetings, assist with general administrative inquiries, processing forms, and establishing and maintaining records. Edits and proofreads documents to ensure accuracy.ResponsibilitiesProvides administrative support such as answering the telephone, e-mail and voice mail and greets people; by assisting, answering questions, taking messages or referring to the appropriate person while maintaining a welcoming reception.Assists with collecting textbook information for the Barnes & Noble platform.Assists with processing incoming mail and handles any mass and/or special mailings for the departmentAssists with managing appointment schedules calendars, and room reservations.Assists with maintaining the bulletin boards on the 3rd floor of Shannon Hall.Assists in maintaining the school¿s websites, brochures, newsletters and social media platforms.Assists with arrangements for maintenance of office equipment.Assist with maintaining the ledger of the school¿s inventory and supplies.Assists with maintaining all school files and faculty records.Assists with special projects and performs other general support/administrative duties as assigned by the Department Chair and Academic Support Assistant.Required QualificationsBe an undergraduate or graduate student at Columbus State University.Ability to work amicably with all levels of faculty, staff, management and external constituencies.Time management skills and the ability to multitask are important to the successful performance of this position.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Word and Excel.Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Gmail, and Google Calendar.Basic knowledge of the principles of modern office management, and equipment.Knowledge and understanding of FERPA and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student and personnel records.Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.Willingness to be flexible.Demonstrated customer service skills.Proposed SalaryThe salary is commensurate with education and experience.
