You'll work closely with principals, Business Managers, other WHSA's and Regional Staff to ensure every school is a safe place to learn and work.About The RoleThe Workplace Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for providing and coordinating workplace health and safety services, as well as performing the role of Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator by communicating effectively with doctors, allied health professionals, line managers, injured employees, and other relevant stakeholders to support safe and timely return-to-work processes.Your ResponsibilitiesAs the Workplace Health and Safety Advisor, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Provide expert advice on WHS matters, including hazard identification, risk control, and accident prevention.Coordinate and deliver WHS training to build awareness and ensure compliance with legislation and departmental policies.Conduct proactive risk assessments, inspections, and investigations into incidents and dangerous events.Support the school's WHS Committee, including organising meetings, reporting, and promoting a culture of safety.Develop and maintain WHS documentation, procedures, and data for internal reviews and audits.Skills And ExperienceDemonstrated knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices in a school or similar environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.Proven ability to manage WHS systems, conduct investigations, and deliver training.Nice-to-Have QualificationsCertificate IV or higher in Workplace Health and Safety.Familiarity with Education Queensland's WHS frameworks and procedures.Please refer to the attached role description for the full list of responsibilities and mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
