Normandien Farms (Pty) Ltd, is looking for an experienced, highly organized and hands-on Workshop Manager, to oversee the daily operations of a busy workshop in Pietermaritzburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination and execution of the maintenance, repairs and operational efficiency of our diverse fleet of trucks, forestry equipment, earthmoving machinery and LDV’s.Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee daily operations of the workshop ensuring a smooth efficient workflow, adherence to safety standards and schedules.Manage and coordinate preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs for a fleet of heavy trucks, trailers, yellow plant and other equipment.Diagnose mechanical issues and provide technical guidance where required.Plan and coordinate scheduled maintenance, repairs and breakdowns ensuring minimal downtime.Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, parts usage and job cards.Source and procure parts, materials, and services as needed & manage relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing and service levels to ensure a cost effective operation.Monitor workshop performance, improve efficiency and manage downtime.Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts and consumables, ensuring parts are available for maintenance and repairs.Supervise and lead a team of diesel mechanics and support staff, ensure all are trained and meet performance targets.Ensure the workshop adheres to all the relevant industry standards, legal requirements and safety protocols.Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes.Provide reports & feedback on fleet performance, maintenance costs and workshop efficiencies.Desired Experience and Qualifications:·       Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic (essential).Proven experience in managing workshops for heavy trucking fleets, trailers, yellow plant, within the transport, forestry or heavy machinery sector would be advantageous. Strong technical knowledge of equipment and machinery.Solid understanding of fleet maintenance, breakdown repairs and troubleshooting of heavy vehicles.Knowledge of maintenance planning systems and record keeping processes.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.·       Ability to work independently and make decisions.Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.Strong organizational and time management skills.Be available on-call for after hours emergency breakdowns and repairs. Please send CV’s to careers@tekwani.co.zaIf you do not receive correspondence from us, please consider your application unsuccessful
