With a factory in Brackenfell, Cape Town, producing locally-approved threads and importing specialized products, ACA Threads provides technical support, flexible production, and personalized service to enhance customer productivity and profitability.The candidate applying for the position should ideally meet the requirements below and will be evaluated to test for compatibility and suitability.EducationMatric with Mathematics and ScienceMinimum of N3 in Mechanical EngineeringTrade certified Mechanical FitterExperienceExperience in the textile environment, machinery, and the maintenance thereofKnowledge of working with workshop equipment – lathe, drilling machine, bench press, hand tools, etc.Arc weldingBoiler, compressor, and pumpsKnowledge and SkillsAnalytical abilitiesProblem solving techniques.Good IT skills.Good communicator at all levels.Ability to think creatively.Task orientated.Detail orientated.Physical RequirementsAble to work overtime and on standby – This is an inherent job requirement.Physically active.Good eyesight/hearing.DispositionThe successful candidate must be initiative-taking, assertive and result orientated.Must be able to work with minimal supervision.A strong finisher of projects embarked on.Team member.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on machinery.Support the operation of the boiler and water plant.Respond quickly to machine breakdowns to minimize downtime.Conduct welding, fabrication and basic fitting work as needed.Monitor and maintain dyeing equipment performance to ensure consistent quality of production.Report on maintenance activities, incidents and completed work for the Workshop ManagerUphold health, safety, and environmental standards.
