About WSMWorkSource Montgomery, Inc. (WSM) is a nonprofit organization and fiduciary agent for Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act funding in Montgomery County. The non-profit organization operates the American Job Centers in Wheaton and Germantown and provides employment services to county residents who are unemployed or underemployed. Additionally, WSM engages employers in various industries throughout the county to ensure that their workforce needs are being met. Position OverviewWorkSource Montgomery, Inc. (WSM) is seeking a dynamic professional to serve as the Talent Development Coordinator for East County.

This role is responsible for delivering essential skills training to customers who may have limited job skills, work histories, and significant employment barriers. Based out of East County, this position includes hosting job readiness workshops, as well as developing business connections and conducting outreach to align training with local labor market needs. The Talent Development Coordinator will collaborate closely with program participants, local employers, community partners, and internal teams to ensure training programs are impactful and regionally responsive. Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and facilitate job readiness workshops, training sessions, and career development events.

Regularly assess community feedback and labor market data to adjust workshop offerings to address emerging needs. Schedule and lead evening or weekend workshops when necessary to reach a wider range of participants. Develop and maintain relationships with local employers, training providers, and community partners to create pipelines for employment and advancement. Track participant progress, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure reporting compliance with funding requirements. Assist clients with job placement by connecting them to appropriate employment opportunities, helping with applications, and preparing them for interviews. Collaborate with instructional staff to align curriculum with labor market needs.

Support business engagement activities such as hiring events, informational sessions, and employer presentations. Follow all policies and procedures as outlined by WSM. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesExperience working with populations with barriers to employment or in workforce development/education. Ability to design and deliver engaging workshops tailored to diverse community needs. Strong relationship-building skills with both clients and employers. Excellent communication, organizational, and data‑tracking skills. Flexibility to work some evenings or weekends as needed. Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people, especially those with extreme barriers to employment.

Ability to anticipate needs and solve problems autonomously. Creative thinker with the ability to foresee issues and possible solutions. Commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation. Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. Education & ExperienceAt least two years' experience working in a program or organization serving high-risk individuals. Experience with individuals and groups related to workforce development, case management, therapy, or counseling. An action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to planning.
