WTG Quality Engineer

Job descriptionMy client is a global energy provider and they are currently looking for a WTG Quality Engineer on a 3 year freelance contract in Germany.Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance and Control for WTG packageWorking with the WTG QE with Portfolio Responsibilities, who is in overall control for the implementation of Contractual requirements, scope is to assist and support.Ensuring the Employer’s requirements are implemented by the contractorFollowing reporting lines with project and lineReviewing and assessing quality documentation from the supply chainPlanning, coordination, and execution of Quality Control (QC) activitiesLiaise with the different contractorsManaging of Quality InspectorsOversee and manage the quality of work delivered by the supply chain under package contractsLeads the day-to-day QC activitiesSkills Comprehensive understanding of offshore Wind Turbine fabricators and their manufacturing supply chain, with marketplace intelligence on performance.Experience leading/coordinating inspectors and their daily tasksComprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes for WTGs, including blades and sub-componentsAble to demonstrate a good understanding of quality requirements and risks and the associated standards for WTGsUnderstanding of Project Certification Requirements VGB European Directives and their applicability to WTGs.Experienced in dealing with contractors/sub-contractors and supply chain monitoring for compliance.Fluent written & verbal English.Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of Inspection and Test Plans, Project Quality Plans and implementation of tailored Quality Surveillance Programs.IT literate ECDL“ in Microsoft, word, excel, power point and outlook. QualificationsDegree qualified Engineer or time served apprentice with an HNC or equivalent diploma in a Mechanical/ Energy Engineering/ with a Fabrication/assembly background.Experience in Wind Turbine manufacture, assembly and installationAPQP 4 wind experienceISO 9001-2015 Lead Auditors CourseMember of the CQI or equivalentFull driving licenseRequired HSE trainings: Full GWOs and HUET Working at Heights, Fire Awareness, First Aid or be prepared to attain at your own cost.For more information, do not hesitate to get in touch!
