Title: Contract Research Scientist – RNA & Endpoint AnalysisLocation: Cambridge, MAEmployment Type: ContractAbout the Role: Xsphera Biosciences is seeking a Contract Research Scientist to join our Immunology group. This role will play a key part in supporting the terminal endpoints of our patient-derived tumor spheroid platform, including RNA purification, Nanostring assay preparation, and transcriptomic analysis. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, experienced with RNA workflows, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment focused on functional precision oncology. About Us: Xsphera Biosciences is a Cambridge-based biotechnology company pioneering a breakthrough microfluidic platform developed at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
We are transforming oncology drug development and clinical decision-making by functionally profiling patient-derived tumors in 3D culture—preserving the native tumor microenvironment to better predict therapeutic response. Primary Responsibilities: • Isolate high-quality RNA from small-input patient-derived 3D tumor spheroid cultures• Perform RNA QC (e. g. , Nanodrop, Tapestation) and prepare samples for Nanostring nCounter and RNA-seq• Support RNA workflows across multiple active studies, ensuring timely sample processing and tracking• Maintain detailed lab notebooks and electronic data tracking• Assist with ordering, inventory, and lab organization• Train and assist with endpoint assays Qualifications:
• BS/MS in molecular biology, cell biology, pharmacology, or related field• 2+ years of lab experience in academic or industry settings• Proficiency in RNA extraction (bead-based, column, and phenol/chloroform methods)• Experience with Nanostring nCounter, qPCR, and RNA-seq library prep preferred• Familiarity with transcriptional profiling analysis is a plus• Basic knowledge of 3D cell culture and cell handling is advantageous• Skilled in using standard lab tools (e. g.
