Merchandising Manager The Merchandising Manager manages and implements the merchandising strategies and develops the private label/house brand products. He/She develops strategic partnerships, manages the product development and manages the budget. The Merchandising Manager works in a dynamic environment. He/She evaluates the market and industry trends to promote the merchandises to target customers. He/She must be a collaborative and adaptable team leader. He/She forms strong relationships with suppliers and stays updated with consumer, market and industry trends.
Key Responsibilities Overseeing the planning and implementation of merchandising strategies, build impactful assortments for all Collections Work with Merchandise Planning to determine key items and buys based on historical performance and current business data.
Provide merchandising direction in partnership with Visual Merchandising and Design Team Oversee vendor communication, sampling and sample approval Ensure sampling and production are executed in accordance with accurate and concise direction Partner with team on trend analysis, inspiration and market research for new product development as well as competitive analysis Drive Visual Merchandising Strategy in collaboration with Marketing Manager and Visual Merchandising Teams to ensure handbag, packaging and merchandise efforts are cohesive and are on-par with brand initiatives.
Direct and identify retail and wholesale merchandise price points Coordinate with Marketing teams to recommend and unveil new products to the field Collaborate with design team on new concepts and brand innovation, lead team with analytics based on facts Negotiating the costs of inventory for multiple stores Preparing annual and quarterly budgets, and presenting them to the director Tracking inventory movement and systematically introducing promotions, sales, price changes, etc Interpreting sales reports and providing guidance on how to improve figures and customer engagement.
Requirement Must have at least 7 year’s experience in product development, sourcing, production, merchandising and/or manufacturing Understanding of the manufacturing processes and pricing tiers. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions to make decisions, respond accordingly, and drive results. A background in marketing, communications, and/or design is preferred. Must be creative and detail-orientated.
