Deputy Gym Manager

Job Title: Deputy Gym Manager (12 month contract)Location: YMCA North Tyneside, Church Way, North Shields, NE29 0ABHours: 37. 5 Hours Per WeekHourly Rate of Pay: £14. 50 per hourDo you have a passion for health and fitness? YMCA North Tyneside is looking for a self-motivated, passionate and experienced Deputy Gym Manager to join our team in North Shields.

As Deputy Gym Manager, you will support the smooth running of the gym, providing a safe and enjoyable health and wellbeing environment at all times. The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver innovative and effective fitness programmes and services. Along with effective leadership skills and a strong ability to inspire and motivate others whilst working in line with our values, goals and strategic objectives.

The Main Duties Will IncludeProvide management support, supervision and be responsible for rotasUnder the direction of the Gym manager ensure recruitment, induction, training and supervision is carried out effectivelyContribute to and deliver the Gym Trading PlanEnsure highest standards of customer service are delivered at all timesMaintain a high presence on the gym floor, interacting with and assisting staff and members with their needsAssist in and/or conduct member tours and inductions as requiredAdminister, record and update training programmes as appropriateActively support and communicate social and educational programmes to membersCommunicate and participate in fundraising and promotional eventsBe fully conversant with current trends and keep abreast of new initiatives and developments within the fitness, health and wellbeing sectorResolve any complaints effectively and in a timely mannerDeliver high quality gym/group exercise sessionsClean and maintain equipment throughout the gym/studioAttend training and development programmesThe above list is not exhaustive and further detail can be found on the Deputy Gym Manager Job Description and Person Specification*.
