Job Description

Job Overview:We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Zakat, Tax, and VAT to join our finance team in a leading financial company in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Saudi tax system, including Zakat, VAT, and other relevant tax regulations. As the Zakat, Tax, and VAT Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with local tax laws and assisting in the preparation and submission of all required filings.Key Responsibilities:Zakat & Tax Compliance:Ensure the company’s Zakat and tax filings comply with Saudi Arabian tax regulations.Supervise the accurate and timely calculation, filing, and payment of Zakat, VAT, and other taxes.Maintain a comprehensive understanding of changes in local tax regulations and proactively implement necessary adjustments.Coordinate and prepare for annual tax audits, including liaising with external auditors and tax authorities.Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring Zakat and tax-related items are properly reported.VAT Management:Oversee VAT compliance, including timely VAT returns and related documentation.Ensure that all transactions are properly classified and documented for VAT purposes.Monitor VAT changes and advise the management team on potential impacts.Provide support during VAT audits and handle any queries or disputes from the tax authorities.Tax Planning & Strategy:Support in the development and implementation of tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position while ensuring full compliance.Monitor tax risks and provide recommendations for minimizing tax liabilities.Participate in internal tax reviews and reporting processes to ensure accurate tax positions.Internal Reporting and Documentation:Maintain accurate records for Zakat, VAT, and tax-related transactions.Prepare internal reports on tax and Zakat liabilities and submit to the management team.Ensure the proper documentation for all tax-related activities is organized and up to date for audits and inspections.Communication and Stakeholder Management:Act as a liaison with the Saudi tax authorities on matters related to Zakat, VAT, and other taxes.Provide training and guidance to internal teams regarding tax compliance, processes, and best practices.Collaborate with legal and finance departments to address any tax-related concerns.Continuous Improvement:Stay up-to-date with the latest changes in tax laws, Zakat regulations, and VAT policies in Saudi Arabia.Suggest improvements to internal processes for better tax and Zakat management.Drive automation and system improvements related to tax filings and reporting.Requirements:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on Zakat, VAT, and tax compliance, preferably within the financial or banking sector in Saudi Arabia.Knowledge:Deep knowledge of Saudi Arabian tax laws, Zakat obligations, VAT, and other local taxation requirements.Familiarity with the Saudi tax system, GAZT (General Authority of Zakat and Tax) regulations, and financial reporting standards.Experience with tax software and ERP systems is highly desirable.Skills:Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with both internal teams and government authorities.Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
