Role ResponsibilitiesAct as the Zutari’s on-site HSE representative. Monitor and evaluate the main contractor's compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and walkthroughs as directed. Review and comment on the main contractor’s risk assessments, method statements, and site-specific HSE documentations. Participate in and lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and incident investigations. Identify and report non-compliances, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions. Ensure the implementation of corrective actions for any identified HSE issues. Support the client in maintaining records of HSE performance and site conditions. Liaise closely with the contractor’s HSE team and site management to promote a culture of safety. Report regularly to the project H&S Manager through reports and briefings.

Ensure all statutory requirements such as PPE usage, emergency preparedness, first aid, fire safety, and permits to work are enforced. Stay up to date with Lesotho HSE regulations, international standards and client requirementsMinimum Requirements3 years relevant experience as a H&S Officer of which 1 years’ experience to be on similar construction projects Successful completion of a H&S Supervisors Training Course (e. g. IRCON) Sound knowledge of either the Lesotho or South African H&S legislation Sound knowledge of Hazard Identification and Risk Management Processes (e. g. HIRA) Sound knowledge of incident investigation processes and their causation phenomena (e.

g. RCAT / TCAM / etc. ) Auditing and inspection training Computer literacy (MS Office packages) Experience in Lesotho and local legislation.
