Working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, the CCA enhances the overall well-being, comfort, and safety of residents by assisting with non-clinical duties, visitation support, meal services, and infection prevention protocols. Companionship & Resident EngagementSpend quality time with residents through conversation, games, reading, and crafts. Support group and individual recreational activities. Family & Visitation SupportHelp residents connect with loved ones through video or in-person visits. Assist with phones/tablets and ensure all visitation safety protocols are followed. Meal AssistanceHelp residents prepare for meals (e. g. , open packages, set up trays). Escort residents to and from dining areas as needed.
Infection Prevention & ControlKeep PPE stocked and high-touch surfaces sanitized. Screen staff and visitors for symptoms and check temperatures. Maintain hygiene and cleanliness throughout the facility. Reception & AdministrationAnswer phones, take messages, and support deliveries and supplies. Health & SafetyReport hazards, incidents, or changes in resident behaviour. Respond to emergencies and follow safety procedures. Use equipment safely and follow WHMIS standards. Professionalism & ConductPresent a respectful, professional image at all times. Foster a positive, inclusive work culture through teamwork and clear communication.
