An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Risk and Assurance Analyst to join a respected organisation in Auckland, where your expertise will play a pivotal role in supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of risk management and compliance frameworks. What You'll DoAs a Risk & Assurance Analyst, you will immerse yourself in a varied role that sees you collaborating with teams across the business to strengthen risk management processes. Your day-to-day activities will involveSupport the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of comprehensive risk management frameworks across all business units.
Assist in assessing and identifying risks throughout the organisation by gathering and analysing data on strategic and operational threats. Maintain and update the Risk Register to ensure accurate tracking of business risks, trends, and emerging issues. Provide regular reports on identified risks, compliance status, and emerging trends to senior managers and relevant committees. Contribute to workshops and training sessions focused on enhancing risk awareness and best practices among staff members. Aid in identifying areas for process improvement and developing effective risk mitigation strategies that align with organisational objectives.
Support the identification of key internal controls, assist with periodic testing, and ensure alignment with industry best practices. Monitor efficiency improvements within internal control systems while highlighting potential high or extreme risks for further action. Assist in managing the group’s compliance programme by tracking adherence to policies, regulations, and statutory obligations. Help draft, review, and update corporate policies while supporting continuous improvements in service delivery related to risk management. What You BringRelevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, economics, risk management or a related field provide a strong foundation for success in this role.
A minimum of two to four year's experience in a risk analysis or compliance-focused position within a corporate environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements as well as established risk management methodologies is essential for effective performance. Strong analytical skills enable you to gather data from diverse sources, conduct thorough research, and present findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar software tools ensures efficient handling of documentation and reporting tasks.
Exceptional attention to detail allows you to focus on both specific assignments as well as broader strategic objectives without losing sight of either. Excellent written and verbal communication skills empower you to produce concise reports while engaging constructively with colleagues across departments. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within teams as well as independently when required fosters positive relationships throughout the business. Membership of relevant professional bodies is advantageous but not mandatory; what matters most is your commitment to ongoing learning.
