Starter Marshal

To welcome players to the 1st tee and to brief them on all applicable rules and regulations of play for the day. To include advice on the GPS unit operation and daily pin location. To pass on any complimentary giveaway items intended for any visitors to the club. To monitor and regulate speed of play on the course to ensure rounds are completed within the agreed time guidelines. To move/start players on others parts of the course when applicable.

To monitor cart usage in and around the course and to deal with any issues that may arise pertaining to our golf cart fleet. To advise players to keep carts away from the mounds, sandy wastes and water hazards. To enforce all rules and regulations set out by the Club Management. To confidently answer any queries regarding the Rules of Golf and any local club rules. To take a lead role in the management of all shot-gun starts.

To ensure golfers bags are safely placed on the correct golf cart and that all shot-gun starts are able to commence at the designated time. Extensive knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and tournament formats – To confidently assist experienced and high-profile guests. Exceptional customer service and hospitality skills – Prior experience in luxury or high-end environments is often required. Professional appearance and demeanor – Polished communication, proper grooming, and a courteous attitude are essential. Experience in managing tee sheets and pace of play at a busy course – Ability to maintain flow without compromising guest experience.

Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills – Capable of handling guest concerns or on-course issues with discretion and diplomacy.
