Job DescriptionJob Posting Open Until FilledSalary: $160,000. 00Hiring Department: LawDEPUTY DIVISION CHIEF - LITIGATION DIVISIONCITY OF ATLANTA LAW DEPARTMENTGeneral DescriptionThis position is responsible for: defending civil actions and supervising a staff of attorneys; developing case strategies and providing direction to a group of attorneys; managing outside counsel; establishing operating policies; providing management coaching and guidance; building relationships within the Department of Law and with City of Atlanta departments; developing and managing organizational budget. The Deputy Division Chief also plans for the long-term talent needs of the Litigation Division and identifies, coaches, and mentors employees.

Must have exceptional legal writing skills; have ability to deliver presentations to various internal audiences regarding cases, litigation trends, and make recommendations on case strategy and other complex litigation matters. In addition, the Deputy Division Chief establishes organizational strategy and policy within required legislative or executive limitations; modifies organization of the Litigation Division to achieve objectives. QualificationsMinimum QualificationsEducation and Experience: Juris Doctorate degree required. Must be a member of good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or the ability to obtain membership within one (1) year of employment.

Must have fifteen (15) plus years of litigation experience and have progressive responsibility managing people and workflow. Preferred QualificationsExperience in municipal, county, and/or constitutional law.
