Full time permanent role | Wellington Central location Salary: $132,417 - $160,472 + KiwiSaver + Wellness Benefits The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) supports MBIE to effectively lead projects and programmes, establish standards, manage governance, lift capability, and provide a community of best practice.
We support all of MBIE to effectively lead projects, establish standards, lift capability and provide a community of best practice with the focus being on: Oversight of approved projects including allocation of resourcing and oversight of stakeholder engagement frameworks, project performance, project and portfolio reporting, pipeline planning, risk and issue management. Improvement focus including project management standards and practices, development of project management capability, risk, issue, benefits tracking and dependency management and undertaking post project reviews with a view to continuous improvement. T?nei t?ranga - About the Role: The PMO Lead reports to the Manager of Portfolio Management Office (PMO) in the Strategy, Technology and Security branch. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our project delivery framework and governance lifecycle. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to: Lead and ensure compliance to Delivery and Governance Framework practices across MBIE.
Provide specialist expertise, strategic advice and support in project, programme, and portfolio management (P3M) governance, assurance, and project standards and practices. Continuously evaluate projects to ensure they are meeting MBIE standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines. Provide effective strategic advice about quality assurance and governance processes and practices. Champion robust quality assurance and practices, keeping projects on track and aligned with strategic objectives. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and foster a collaborative environment. Ng? pukenga me ng? wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required:
A seasoned professional with at least 5+ years of experience in PMO environment, handling complex projects and multi-vendor stakeholders. Experience establishing a high performing PMO assurance function Proven track record of leading and operating within a PMO environment. Possess strong leadership qualities and experience designing, implementing, and overseeing project, programme, and portfolio governance groups. Hold relevant project and/or programme management certifications (e. g. , PRINCE2, MSP, PMI, Agile). Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence a variety of audiences. Prerequisites: Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
