Read on and apply today. The positionScientific Publication Specialists are the core of the Publications Centre of Excellence at Novo Nordisk.

In addition to publication execution, the successful candidate will be able to develop and maintain collaborative relationships and drive process improvements in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. The role requires excellent project management and multi-tasking skills, providing long-term oversight and guidance for colleagues both in and outside of the team. Your main responsibilities will include: Manage impactful, high-quality publication execution, ensuring transparency and integrity while liaising with cross-functional teams and external experts. This includes budget prioritisation, vendor management, and continuous evaluation of impact.

Independently structure, drive, optimise, and align publications processes within and across governance bodies, proactively conceptualising and communicating both strategic challenges and possible solutions. Develop and execute bold communication and publication planning strategies—both within compound-specific projects and with a broader therapy area outlook. Model excellent, diplomatic communication across the Novo Nordisk value chain and with external healthcare professionals. As a representative of the Publications Centre of Excellence at Novo Nordisk, proactively seek out best practices within our industry, evaluating and implementing new team processes and providing training to the team and the larger organisation, as needed.

Lead publication governance, driving initiatives that enhance efficiency, impact, and organisational readiness in scientific communications. The position is primarily based at our Søborg office in the Capital Region of Denmark, with some flexibility to work from home within Denmark or remotely from the UK. Please note that remote work from countries other than the UK is not possible. The Scientific Publication Specialist role is Global in scope, so a highly-developed ability to engage and interact diplomatically with different cultures and stakeholders is necessary. The job is expected to include approx.

10-15% travel days per year to congresses, affiliates/regions, and publication professional meetings. QualificationsWe are looking for candidates with the following qualifications: A Master’s degree in life science, business or a related field; PhD can be an asset. Interest and experience in the ethics of scientific communications and Good Publication Practice; CMPP certification is a plus. At least 5 years of project management experience; certification such as PRINCE2 or equivalent is a plus.

Ideally around 10 years of experience in scientific communications (Pharma, Agency, Publisher, Consultancy or Academia), with at least 5 years working across the pharmaceutical value chain, preferably from a role in medical affairs or scientific communications; previous experience leading governance bodies is a plus. Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken) are required. As an individual, you are proactive, forward-thinking and flexible, thriving in a fast-paced and changing environment. You bring a can-do attitude, a healthy sense of humour, and the ability to pre-empt organizational needs through structured problem-solving for critical decisions.

About The DepartmentThe Scientific Publications Department, part of Global Medical Affairs at Novo Nordisk, is anchored in Product & Portfolio Strategy, in the Global Medical Affairs Organisation in Novo Nordisk. Our department oversees publications across all drug development phases and is led by the Scientific Publications Director and divided into two teams.
