Cyber Security NSW is looking for a Junior Developer to join the Capability and Development Team in Sydney. We're seeking individuals with a background in software development, cyber security, or related fields who are eager to work in a collaborative, high-impact environment. As a member of the team, you'll work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver innovative solutions across a broad range of cybersecurity objectives. Develop robust and secure software platforms with an immediate focus on Python and React to enhance and empower the Cyber Security teamParticipate in consultations with stakeholders to assist in identifying business functions, objectives, and outputsContribute to the creation of design documentation which outlines the technical specifications of a solutionPerform code reviews and analysisWork as part of a small team with regular verbal and written communicationConduct manual and automated software testingProvide support, documentation, and assistance in handing over software solutions to BAURecommend, and assist in the implementation, customisation, configuration and support of COTS software and bespoke platformsUpdate and support existing platforms and software About Cyber Security NSW Branch:

The protection of our systems and digital information is vital because of the many essential services NSW Government provides including health, emergency services, and transport. Furthermore, the exciting digital transformation being undertaken across NSW Government requires similarly enhanced cyber security capabilities. Software development experience, proficient in one or more modern programming languages, especially Python and React (Django experience is highly desirable)With an attention to detail, you strive for the best quality code; adopting best practice/style guides that encourage clean and readable code with particular attention to reusability, extensibility, maintainability, scalability, and security, often going out of your way to find the best solution possibleAs part of Cyber Security NSW, you are security minded; you have a passion for security by design and enabling security engineering as a conceptDemonstrable interest in learning new languages, approaches, and methodsMust have Australian citizenship with (or willing and able to obtain and maintain) Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance (Australian permanent residents or visa holders are not eligible)You will have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, train and work with non-technical users; you take initiative, are able to manage yourself, and have a can-do approachApplying for the role:
