Elusav Recruitment have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a leading European engineering contractor based in Dublin. The Senior Mechanical Engineer role will provide technical knowledge and experience to the Preconstruction Department. This team is responsible for performing preconstruction activities during the bidding phase across all business units. Responsibilities: Familiarisation of Design/ specifications and drawings to fully understand the scope of the Project. Assist in generation and finalisation of estimates, tender documents and resourcing of tender projects. Review the MEP design and conduct value engineering exercises to optimise mechanical design solutions.
To support the engineering requirements through managing & liaising with Key Project Stakeholders (Client, Suppliers, Sub-contractors, Vendors). Review equipment specifications and generate procurement packages. Prepare Sub-contract packages. Assessment of Sub-contract and Supplier Tender returns for Technical compliance with design intent specifications. Review the construction methodology to identify programme implications and building logistics. Interrogate tender documentation (drawings, specifications, tender addenda, and all other documentation) for commercial risks and scope gaps relating to deliverables. Identify project risks and mitigation plans to deal with these risks. Mentor and support less experienced engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
Evaluate and promote the use of new engineering practices and processes to enhance delivery time of projects. Attend industry events and training sessions to maintain a current understanding of market trends and best practices. Requirements: 7+ years’ experience in design of Building Services systems and project execution (EPC). Honours degree (NFQ Level 8 for Ireland) in Mechanical engineering. Proven ability to lead projects, manage technical and financial aspects, and deliver high quality mechanical systems. Design and implementation of mechanical systems such as Critical cooling, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. Strong understanding of electrical systems supporting the mechanical plant.
Strong understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and value engineering principles. Experience in mentoring junior engineers and fostering collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Competence in design software such as Navisworks, Fluid Flow, Pipe-Flo, Fathom, or similar platforms. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders and external consultants.
